Turkey Tags

In preparation for Thanksgiving Day, I decided to make some festive Turkey Tags. I was first inspired to make placecards at family/friend gatherings by my mother-in-law, Verna, shortly after moving here. She goes the whole nine yards with placecards, cloth napkins, and the pretty ribbons tied around. I have always loved that! And I am adopting her style here and there. Seems my job at the Godoy gatherings ends up being placecards, including who goes where. I like this job and so decided it was time to spice up the placecards a little bit. So to kick it up a notch from our plain white ones...moved from elegance to family fun! I looked here for inspiration and thanks to a sweet and generous friend, I was able to add a little of my own touch. The freebie that inspired me provides printable, pre-designed placecards but I wanted to make them a little more layered and homemade. So here is what I did:

1. Printed page 12 of the freebie. It is the colored 'collage' pictures. Remember to use good cardstock to have sturdy place cards.

2. Cut them out carefully.

3. Proceeded to find appropriate sizes and colors for the placecards.

4. Used a 'snail', given to me by a friend, to attach the picture.

5. Best part: Hand stamped each name on the place card. (Thank you Jenni!)

As you can see, there are many sizes and different colors. No set measurements on all, I did about 3 of one size, 3 of another, and so on. I like variety! I like the look of 'collage'. I think it brings life and character to the table. Happy Thanksgiving preparations to you!
